A 1964 Comet Caliente........To the Moon and Back??

1964 Comet Caliente

Ms. Rachel Veitch is a very proud owner of a 1964 Comet Caliente, which she purchased new for $3,289. The Comet which she lovingly refers to as the "Chariot" has served her well over the years.

In 2001 she drove the Chariot from Orlando Florida to Erie Pennsylvania to attend her 64th High School Reunion, (while taking in a few car shows along the way) where the Comet turned over the half million mile mark.

Our understanding is that it currently has 510,000 miles on it and still going strong!

(That would be the distance of driving to the moon and back, with a few miles left over).

This dependable Comet Caliente has been featured in many magazine and newspaper articles, and been featured at many car shows over the years.

Reportedly she has been through 15 Batteries and 7 mufflers (all with lifetime warranties), and totaled up some $50,000 in service and maintenance fees over the last 40 years.

So a tip of the hat to Ms Veitch who turned 83 in 2001, and her beloved Comet Caliente who turned 37 that year!
