• Ford stopped all automotive production for six months after the final Model T came off the assembly line in 1927, until the first Ford Model A was produced.
  
  
• The first official production Model A was a tudor sedan, of which the body was removed and replaced by a Phaeton body and then given to Thomas Edison.
  
  
• Although Ford provided a safety laminated glass windshield as standard equipment on all Model A's, the side and back windows were made using regular plate glass.
  
  
• The 20 millionth production Ford was a 1931 Ford Fordor Sedan
  
  
• Almost 4 million Ford Model A's were produced

Actually, the first Model A Ford, was the first production Ford car model that was introduced by Henry Ford in 1903. It was followed by the Model B, C, D, E, and up through the alphabet to the Model T from 1909 through 1927. The "second" and most popular Model A was produced from 1928 through 1931..
